There is nothing better than a good book!
Hello!
You may not know this about me, but I do read books outside of children’s books! Haha!
I am VERY slowly working through my TBR list while also accumulating new books. My goal right now is to read one new release and one book from my TBR list. I usually set a book down if it doesn’t instantly captivate me and keep my attention. These two books are not disappointing: Second Chance Highway by Lori Keesey and We Were Liars by e. lockhart.
Second Chance Highway is the kind of book that pulls you in right away and keeps you turning pages. It’s an emotional, suspenseful story about a woman finding the courage to change her life and protect what matters most. The journey feels tense at times but also filled with moments of hope and unexpected kindness that make the story really meaningful. You quickly start rooting for Ginny and hoping she finds the fresh start she’s searching for.
If you enjoy stories about resilience, second chances, and characters who discover strength they didn’t know they had, this is a powerful and memorable read. I was able to read an advanced readers copy, but you can preorder your book on March 24th, 2026! Who doesn’t want to be the first one to read a new release?!
We Were Liars was instantly captivating. I’ve actually started this book a few times on vacation with kids, and let’s be honest, vacation with kids is no vacation for adults. If you know, you know. I’m finally getting back to it now and I’m already pulled right back into the story. The writing has this mysterious, slightly haunting feel that makes you want to keep reading just to figure out what’s really going on. I haven’t finished yet, so no spoilers, but I can already tell this is one of those books that slowly pulls you deeper the more you read.
Feel free to comment on what you are reading below. I can add it to my never ending TBR list! :)
Find Joy. It’s all around. You just have to look for it!
